本日はお子様のタブレットPCの利用方法についてご連絡を差し上げます。
現在スクールでは一部クラスを除きMEL Schoolのgmail アカウントを使用し練習用のファイルにアクセスする権限としています。
個々のタブレットPCがインターネットにつながっている際には個別アカウントを設定しログインしない限りは、検索した履歴やダウンロードした写真等がスクールの履歴として他の生徒さんも見られる状態になっています。
生徒さんには学習に必要なこと以外では共有アカウントを絶対に使わないようにお話してありますが、残念ながら昨日守られていない事例が報告されました。
対応として、メルスクールのアカウントのパスワードを変更し、生徒さんがアクセスできないように設定いたします。
夏季課題を少しずつダウンロードして進めるようお話してあるため、8月8日(金)午前9時までにGoogle Drive から解答をVoice aloud reader のアプリにダウンロードするようお子様にお伝えください。
8月9日(金)午前9時以降はMEL Schoolのアカウントが使用不可能になります。
以降は各自でGoogle アカウントを取得するか、すでにお持ちのアカウントに対し練習用ファイルにアクセスできるように共有設定を行います。

先月お伝えした卒業生3人の海外留学生たちがMEL School で学ぶ後輩のために体験記を寄せてくれました。海外での生活を経て大きく成長した様子がうかがえます。

2014年度第2回英検に先立ち過去問題を使用しての能力測定を模擬試験形式で行います。
5級    8月22日(金) 13:30-14:30
4級    8月22日(金) 13:30-14:40
3級    8月25日(月) 14:30-15:40
準2級      8月25日(月) 14:30-16:15

参加費:無料
希望者は8月6日までにスクールで申込用紙に記入をするか、8月15日までにメールで連絡をしてください。
*2級の受験希望者は各自講師と相談してください。

2014年度第2回の英検実施要項をお知らせします。
*5級、4級、3級、準2級はMEL Schoolで実施
一次試験実施日時 10月12日(日)
 二次試験(3級以上の一次合格者対象)11月9日(日)
5級    13:10 集合  14:20 終了予定 検定料1,500円     
4級      9:40 集合  11:10 終了予定 検定料1,600円
3級    13:10 集合  14:40 終了予定 検定料2,800円
準2級        9:40 集合  11:35 終了予定 検定料4,100円
2級    13:00 集合  15:15    終了予定 検定料5,000円 (本会場受験)

申込締切 9月16日(火)
受験希望者はスクールの用紙に受験級と名前を記入し、締切までに検定料を名前を書いた封筒に入れて持参してください。

News-4 Junior-1(中1クラス)でタブレット使用開始!
すでにJunior-2以上のクラスではタブレットPCを利用した音声練習を続けていますが、いよいよ7月からJunior-1クラスでも開始しました。夏休みの家庭学習課題をしっかり音声練習をするようご家庭でも応援してあげてください。

News-5 海外留学が大学の卒業要件に
在学中に海外留学を奨励する大学や、必修化している学部が増えている中で、一橋大学では4週間以上の海外留学が卒業要件になるという記事が先日朝日新聞デジタルで報道されました。海外留学を推進する大学がますます増えているようです。

Update-1 2014年度第1回英検結果
2014年度第1回英検では、MEL School からは30名ほどの生徒が受験しました。今回は一次試験に合格した17名全員が二次の面接試験に合格しました。特に33点満点中30点以上での合格者が多く、日ごろの音声練習の成果が出たようです。

Update-2 夏休みの日程
今年の夏休みは8月7日(木)から8月20日(水)です。
この期間以外で旅行や合宿などで欠席の予定がわかっている場合は事前にお知らせください。
また、各クラス課題が出ていますので計画的に進めるようぜひお声掛けください。

Update-3 服装について
MEL Schoolでは英語を使ってコミュニケーションをする力を身につけるためのスクールです。そのための学習に相応しい環境を保つために、服装や身だしなみ、マナーについて守ってもらいたいルールがあります。ご存知のことかと思いますが、季節の変わり目でもありますので、以下の点についてご注意頂けますようお願いします。
以下の服装や身だしなみではレッスンを受講できません
運動用の服装(ジャージ、ユニフォーム、スポーツ用のパンツなど)
ビーチサンダル、タンクトップ、短すぎるスカート
